Highly figured woods are beautiful but some times can be less strong or stable in neck construction.

This is why here at Tasmanian tonewoods after many years talking & listening to some of the worlds top luthiers that are our customers we work to supply you with your neck requirements. highly figured woods are beautiful but in necks can some times can be less strong or stable, This is why we recommend laminated neck construction - stacked laminate is a very labour intensive building technique, but yields an incredibly strong solid stable neck, particularly when using highly figured woods.

Laminated necks will be vivid brightly coloured intense.

We have in stock beautiful quarter sawn highly figured Tasmanian tonewood available and we will re -saw for your requirements.

Over the coming weeks we will be processing master grade Tasmanian fiddleback blackwood - Tasmanian blackhearted sassafras Acoustic back & side sets - tonewoods for Ukulele - new weissenborn sets will also be re-sawn soon.

New stock of Tasmanian Huon pine soundboards also available. Tasmanian celery top soundboards will be available in the coming weeks.

Busy day today resawing Master grade Tasmanian fiddleback blackwood Ukelele sets for Soprano/ Concert/ and Tenor/ Ukelele Sets will be resawn next week in blackhearted Sassafras.

Tops and backs are made up of a two piece bookmatched set, sides are also a two piece book matched set.

Sets are often larger, especially in thickness, I try to get as much wood as a builder requires without wasting it in sawdust.

Photos will be posted next weekend.
