Tasmanian blackwood

Coming soon more sets of selectively harvested Tasmanian blackwood salvaged from the west coast of Tasmania from trees blown down in a storm.

Tasmanian Blackwood is one of the most valued tonewoods a distant cousin of Hawaii Koa.

In the words of a lot of luthiers world wide Tasmanian blackwood has more density and a better tap tone Koa.

Blackwood  has warm woody tones similar to that of Mahogany and the brightness of Rosewood.
